HOLIDAY HITS: Baked Potato Bar

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas! Even though we have checked Christmas off the list, we aren't done with the holidays yet. We are rounding off our Holiday Hits Series by discussing an idea that would fit well into a New Year Eve Party or really any festive event you are throwing in the coming year.

Baked Potato Bar

There is something so comforting and welcoming about a baked potato. This is another idea this is wonderful because it can be as simplistic or grand as you would like. Begin with baked potatoes. You can even serve sweet potatoes as well for a twist. From there, build the bar with a variety of toppings. Some classics are cheese, chili, broccoli, and sour cream. Guests can use their creativity to make a delicious masterpiece.

HOLIDAY HITS: Cookie Exchange

Cookie Exchange

There is something about the holidays that make you want to bake. That's why this is another wonderful idea to spruce up a Christmas or Holiday Party.  A Cookie Exchange or Cookie Swap is usually a small gathering in which you ask everyone attending to bring their favorite cookie and the recipe.

Once guest arrive you can have them create a label or a sign to put in front of their cookies. You then mix and mingle and sample cookies. After everyone has sampled, you can hand out treat bags or containers for everyone to pack up cookies they really enjoyed. You can have ribbons and other gift packaging available so they can make gifts for their friends and family. The guests will leave with tasty treats and new recipes. The Hot Chocolate Bar would go well with this idea.

Supplies:
Napkins
Serving Utensils
Platters for cookies
Signs for cookies
Note cards for recipes
Beverage (hot chocolate, coffee tea, cider or water)
Cups
Straws
Treat Bags for guest to take leftovers (optional)

If you check my Pinterest board there are also some links to free printables for the cookie exchange.

Good Luck and Happy Planning!

HOLIDAY HITS: Hot Chocolate Bar

I'll be starting a Holiday Hits Series where I will post ideas to pull together a wonderful holiday event or party. This is the first of the series. I hope you enjoy!

Hot Chocolate Bar

This is the perfection addition to any event you are having this season. I love this idea because it can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be.  A Hot Chocolate Bar is simply hot chocolate served with an array of toppings. Topping ideas are peppermints, marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, chocolate chips, and whipped cream.

Supplies:
Hot Chocolate in a warmer
Toppings of your choice
Serving Utensils
Styrofoam cups or mugs
Napkins
Stirrers

I've also pinned some examples to the Something Blue Board on Pinterest.

Happy Planning!
